Tracking the number of visitors in a website is necessary for all bloggers and website owners, and the best service that does this is doubtlessly Google Analytics.
While there are different plugins that can help you insert the analytics code in your website, the process is actually very simple and can be done manually very easily. To insert the code, open your footer.php file of your theme, and insert the analytics code provided by google just before the </body> tag.
This way you can track the visitors in all the pages of your website.
Many thanks
Just added that + have set up Google Analytics to send me a weekly report.
Good stuff!
glad it helped …
Is there any reason you wouldn’t use a plug-in for this process – say you evenrtually upgraded your theme?
You could use a plugin, but why use plugins for simple things? More plugins make your site more insecure, heavier, increase the possibility of conflicts etc.
How can I disable the accordian drop down function? Or how can I adjust the height of how much it slides down?
Thanks!
There’s a solution in the forum, did you look there?
Thanks,
