# Create child themes in WordPress

Child themes are the recommended way of modifying a WordPress theme. In most our themes we enable you to create and activate a child theme with just one click.

To do so, in the themes that support this feature (please refer to theme documentation) in your *Dashboard* go to *Appearance → Theme Editor.*

In the top you will see a notification that will invite you to create and activate a child theme. Just click ***Activate Now*** link.

The child theme folder and necessary files will be created automatically in less than a second, and the child theme will also be activated automatically.
